Oliver sings the Music of Tom Waits |
|
With his unrivalled reputation for his singing of Tom Waits songs over the years Oliver has decided to create a Theatre/Arts Centre touring show of the Music of Tom Waits.
A strange and enigmatic character Tom Waits has only played a handful of live gigs in the UK over the last ten years and, not surprisingly, they sell out in a matter of minutes. His music, usually strange and often difficult to get into is quite extraordinary in its range and breadth, and he has a very strong and loyal fanbase across the world.
Oliver, described by Blues in Britain magazine as “The nearest singer to Tom Waits that we have,” take on the challenge of replicating music from the very broad songbook of Tom Waits including tracks from albums such as Closing Time, Mule Variations, Heart Attack & Vine, Small Change, Rain Dogs and Real Gone.
This is not a tribute show in the current sense of the word but a Celebration of some of the best songwriting of the last 30 years.
Oliver is joined on this tour by a four highly experienced touring musicians.
