The Big Blues Tribe is a triumph of musicianship and enthusiasm over practicality and logic. In a world where bands are getting smaller to eke out a living, The Big Blues Tribe is a full nine piece blues band packed with highly skilled

musicians.

 

Combining musical quality with a real sense

of fun and 100% commitment to playing the

blues this is a band which plans to put

everything on stage creating great musical

moments and events.

 

Brass - we’ve got FIVE of ‘em, Voices - we’re

inundated (six in all!), plus a really strong

rhythm section - and all based around a wide

range of blues-based music that swings along

at a real lick.

 

Fronted by top blues vocalist Oliver Carpenter and featuring excellent musicians from across the Midlands on every stand (see our MEET THE BAND page), The Big Blues Tribe plays the music of people like BB King, Ray Charles and some of the old blues stalwarts in its own inimitable style.

 

Already The Big Blues Tribe has been booked at major UK festivals (Blues at the Farm, Chichester, Upton, Gloucester, Worthenbury , Warrington, Bentworth, etc) and top Midlands venues like Cox’s Yard, Stratford-upon-Avon; The Marrs Bar, Worcester; Tubby Blues Club, Cheltenham; Brewhouse Blues Club, Dudley.

 

Our first album ‘Warning; May Contain Blues’ has been selected by Blues in Britain magazine as one of its ‘Picks of 2009’, played our first Boogaloo Blues Weekend, and have now embarked on taking our big sound into theatres.is causing a stir in the press everywhere it plays (see PRESS CUTTINGS page).
